News!
So all the big vague news about Gateway is finally out and talk-able. Wootz. While that whole past Kickstarter attempt was a big ol’ failure, it did in the end give us a lead on a few more traditional publishing options, which eventually landed us signing a contract with CMON , the publisher for other awesome games like Zombicide, Arcadia Quest, and the new Bloodborne card game. Needless to say, we’re pretty damned stoked about the whole thing.
The official press release can be found here. There was also a video interview or two, but I’m not sure yet where in the Interwebs they reside yet. If anyone has seen them and knows where they exist, lemme know. ‘Cause sads…totally forgot to get that information like a dope.
What’s Left To Do
We’re all set to hit a Q1 2017 release (vague dates are still vague), and while Sean finishes up the last of the remaining art, John and I have just a smidge left on playtesting to iron out a few kinks on some new rules and hammer away on the wording in the rulebook.
I’m toying with the idea of having a big local playtesting thingy to get some more unbiased feedback, maybe at Brews and Board Games, or just doing something standalone. Decisions. In any case, if we do end up having a big “come play the game” day, we’ll send out notifications via the newsletter, which you can sign up for here.
Pictures!
The latest prototype in action. Most of this will look pretty damn similar to the final product, but we are going to shoot for little standees for the player pieces instead of flat little hexes. Although hexes are cool.
